As I reflected on this prompt, I realized the person I most want to hug is my younger self — my inner child.

I grew up without much physical affection. One parent was narcissistic, the other present but emotionally unavailable, and I rarely felt safe, acknowledged, or truly seen.

So today, I’m offering that warmth inward. Imagining a steady, comforting embrace, and letting my younger self know she is safe now, that she matters, and that she’s no longer alone.

If this speaks to you, I’d love to know: who would you offer comfort to today, outwardly or within?
